REVIEW OF DS900X
I recently checked out the VOGE DS900X at Dearden Motorcycles and was seriously impressed right from the first look. The bike comes with an absolutely massive amount of kit as standard, including the same engine that’s used in the BMW F900, and an incredible list of electrical gadgetry.
The engine is nice and responsive, although it does sound a little rattly — pretty much what you’d expect from the F900 motor. The riding position is comfortable overall, though the handlebars felt a bit high for me personally (I’m 5’7”, so not the tallest rider).
At lower revs there was a bit of throttle lag and some jerkiness, but switching to Rain mode definitely smoothed things out. Once you’re above 3,500rpm and in Sport mode, the bike really comes alive — smooth, responsive, and packed with torque.
The quickshifter was great on upshifts, with nice positive changes. Downshifts worked best from higher revs, although I still found myself using the clutch out of habit.
Suspension felt plush and well sorted on the standard settings, offering good feedback. I added four clicks of rear preload and immediately noticed the bike felt more agile, though a bit firmer over bumps. It feels like it’s well within the sweet spot for two-up riding with luggage.
Riding this bike was a real pleasure and gave an overall look and feel of a much higher priced motorcycle. If you’re looking for a new adventure bike with fantastic spec that really delivers on its promises, the DS900X offers unbelievable value for money.
